It's Funny How Things Turn Out

April 1, 2023 was a special day for two families. Two families would officially become one as Chris and Dalia exchanged vows at the Red Bridge Event Center in Corsicana, Texas.

The weather leading up to their wedding day was cold and rainy, but on April 1st the sun came out and warmed up the day to a perfect mid-70 degrees! There was a light breeze blowing and a bright blue sky to create the most amazing weather for their union!

How it all began…

Chris and Dalia originally met while working at Home Depot together. They eventually went out to dinner to spend some time together. During this dinner they kept things simple and just talked and listened to one another. They both enjoyed learning about each other as the evening dinner progressed.

Chris and Dalia continued learning about each other for the next five years. They both had children from previous relationships, but they are a blended family. The children are not his or hers. The five children are THEIRS.

Dalia hoped to marry Chris one day, but never brought it up to him as she wanted him to ask her. One day Chris decided that September 14, 2020 would be THE day. It was the PERFECT day - easy to remember. It was the day after his birthday!

September 14th arrived and Dalia was in a rush to go to a meeting at the school. She was running late and a bit frustrated. Chris grabbed her hand and said, “Listen, I just need to do this now.” He pulled the box out of his pocket and said, “This isn’t a big proposal. I know you’re a simple and straight to the point person so before you leave, will you marry me?”

This definitely caught Dalia off guard, but she smiled and said, “Of course!” The proposal was perfect! Chris often tells Dalia to slow down and take a breath. She says that day was the best “slow down and take a breath” moment - and one she will always remember.

Over the years Chris and Dalia have definitely been through many ups and downs, but they have managed to overcome every obstacle that has come their way which has only strengthened their relationship. The two of them compliment each other. They’re so different, yet so much alike.

The wedding day

I met Dalia and Chris at their engagement portrait session and three things were very obvious about their relationship. One, they are both simple, uncomplicated individuals that genuinely care deeply for one another. Two, they love their children beyond measure. Three, they enjoy having fun with those they love. I knew that I’d see so much more of these characteristics on their wedding day. And I definitely did just that!

During their first dance portion of their wedding, they included all five of the children. Dalia danced with them. Chris danced with them. The two families definitely blended together very well and created one beautiful family. It was beyond special and I’m blessed that I was able to witness that.

Dalia and Chris have a natural connection to one another that they continue to foster each and every day to maintain a strong relationship - not only for each other, but for their family as well.

The day I married you, I not only gained a new partner but an incredible family.
