At the End of an Old Dirt Road

Everything I love is at the end of an old dirt road.

On August 11, 2023, Amanda and Matthew exchanged vows in a beautiful outdoor ceremony in the heart of Texas on a ranch in Donie. The sun shone brightly, and the temperature soared above 100 degrees, but that didn't stop the couple from having the wedding of their dreams.

Where it all began…

Amanda and Matthew began their relationship online. Amanda was living in Colorado and Matthew was living in Channing, Texas. Amanda was trying to move back to the Texas Panhandle. Eventually they decided to go to a Mexican restaurant for lunch in Dumas, Texas. Soon after that first date, they went on a second date. This date included spending the day together driving around the ranch putting out mineral tubs for cattle. They both said that driving around that day was the perfect way to get to know each other. To this day they continue to enjoy these dates and say that ranch dates look different than typical dates, but they are so much better.

the proposal…

About two weeks before Amanda moved back to the panhandle, Matthew received a promotion that would move him to Donie, Texas. He asked how she felt about long distance relationships. A lot of road trips later, Matthew would propose to Amanda on New Year’s Eve when they were celebrating their Christmas together during Amanda’s visit to Texas. He wrapped the ring up as a present and when she opened it, he got down on one knee and asked Amanda to marry him. Amanda then moved to Donie, Texas to be with Matthew. Within a month or two, Matthew received another promotion and the two of them relocated to Bremond, Texas.

The wedding…

Amanda looked stunning in her flowing white gown, and Matthew was dapper in his pressed jeans with a white shirt and tan vest. Their wedding party was dressed in turquoise and tan attire, and the guests were all wearing their best summer finery.

The ceremony was held in a shady spot under a grove of oak trees. The couple's loved ones gathered around them to witness their love and commitment to each other. The ceremony was short and sweet, but it was full of emotion. Amanda and Matthew's vows were heartfelt and sincere, and their first kiss as husband and wife was truly magical.

After the ceremony, the guests headed to the reception, which was held at The Cowboy Heritage Church of Freestone County in Teague, Texas. The reception area was decorated with rustic charm, and the air was filled with the delicious smell of Mexican cuisine prepared by the family. The guests enjoyed a delicious meal, danced the night away, and celebrated the happy couple's new beginning.

It was a hot Texas wedding, but it was also a perfect one. Amanda and Matthew were surrounded by their loved ones, and they couldn't have been happier. Their wedding was a celebration of love, laughter, and family. It was a day that they will cherish forever.

Amanda and Matthew…

I first met Amanda and Matthew at their engagement session and they truly complemented each other perfectly! They were easy going and uncomplicated. They wanted to keep their wedding simple and they did just that. Amanda made many of the items for the wedding - centerpieces, bouquet wrap, floral arrangements and her shoes!

Amanda and Matthew are faith driven and surround themselves with others that share their love of Christ. They had an exit that was a group prayer and included all of their guests. It was such a powerful and meaningful way to wrap up the celebration of their wedding day and send them on their way to begin their marriage!

A wedding based on faith holds a profound significance in the lives of the couple and those present. It is a beautiful union that intertwines not just two individuals, but also their shared beliefs, values, and devotion to a higher power. Throughout the sacred ceremony, the couple's faith serves as a guiding light, strengthening their commitment to love, honor, and cherish one another in the presence of their loved ones and their spiritual community. The wedding serves as a testament to the couple's deep-rooted faith and their unwavering belief in the power of love. As the newlyweds embark on their journey together, their faith will continue to serve as a strong foundation, providing them with strength, hope, and inspiration to face the joys and challenges of married life. Ultimately, a wedding rooted in faith not only celebrates the love between two individuals but also symbolizes the belief in a divine presence that blesses and enriches their union. Amanda and Matthew, we wish you both the best as you begin your life together!
