A Warm Fall Wedding Under the Pecan Tree | Jon & Joelee at Old Bison Ranch

Jon and Joelee’s November 7th wedding at Old Bison Ranch in Forreston, Texas was the kind of day that feels wrapped in sunshine and meaning. The venue itself is described as “a love story waiting to be told,” and with its six hundred acres of wooded beauty, winding pond, and the iconic centuries-old pecan tree, it was the perfect place for these two to begin forever.

Their ceremony took place beneath that magnificent tree — the one Old Bison Ranch lovingly refers to as the spot where “Love Begins Under the Tree.” Warm fall light filtered through the branches as their guests watched Jon and Joelee promise their lives to one another, surrounded by a landscape that felt timeless.

Jon and Joelee’s love story began much earlier than this day — all the way back in middle school, when they first met in the library. They didn’t become inseparable until high school, when Jon asked a friend for Joelee’s number because he just knew there was something special about her. Their first date was sweet and simple: time with family, friends, and then a movie — the perfect beginning for a relationship built on comfort and laughter.

Fun Fact: Jon brought Joelee to his senior photo session and of course I made them take a few together because I knew they’d be together forever!

Years later, Jon planned a thoughtful proposal in Dallas. After dinner at Sky Blossom, he took Joelee for a walk by the downtown waterfalls. What she thought was a casual stroll turned into the moment he asked her to spend forever with him.

When describing their relationship, they chose five perfect words: Honest, Adventurous, Comforting, Laugh-filled, Genuine. Those qualities showed up in every smile and every glance between them. Joelee says she loves how caring Jon is and how he can always make her laugh. Jon says he loves her gorgeous eyes, her maturity, and the moment he knew he loved her — the very first time he saw her.

Their wedding day reflected all of this: warm, joyful, easy, and deeply genuine. As the sun set across Old Bison Ranch, Jon and Joelee celebrated surrounded by the people who watched their love grow from childhood into something beautifully enduring.

Jon & Joelee — your day was magic.
Here’s to a lifetime of adventure, comfort, laughter, and love. ✨
